While there are a lot of articles on line about job-searching, interviewing and landing a job, when I was researching for my book, I found that there was a lot of misleading, inaccurate and out of date information.
The information posted tended to be self-serving. As an example, a person operating a resume-writing business would offer suggestions on how to write a resume, their method. And they can do it for you! I don’t have a problem with promoting one’s business.
I do have a problem, however, with those self-proclaimed experts that declare that their method is the only way. A frequent example that I have seen is where somebody working in the technology field declares that their way is the only way ‘now’ to apply for a job. They are making the presumption that their method is transferrable to other industries such as healthcare. It does not!
As I have in my other books, I have researched best-practices and applied them to the broad topic of ‘job searching.’ From it developed a systematic approach to almost every step of the process, a ‘how to land a job’ manual, if you will.
You can spend a lot of time on-line looking for the best in resources as I did, or you can follow a systematic approach that works. I know which one I would choose, but I am biased … towards your success!
