Onwords & Upwords First Edition Welcome

Welcome to the inaugural edition of my newsletter Onwords & Upwords, your gateway to the Wonderful World of Rae Stonehouse.

My website at raestonehouse.comraestonehouse.com has undergone multiple incarnations since its inception. It started out as a way to market my services as a local speaker and presenter.

Then I focused on my multiple entrepreneurial pursuits, my ‘madly off in all directions’ phase if you will. That iteration morphed into a ‘scrapbook’ style of website where I wanted to record for posterity anything related to my life. My legacy if you will.

Lately I have adapted it to be part of my Author’s platform. If you have stumbled across this newsletter by chance or you are merely curious as to why somebody would have the audacity to claim their website ‘the Wonderful World of …’ well let me thank you for reading at least this far in the newsletter. I will try to explain.

As an author and a writer, I tend to write about practical matters. I write in the self-help or opinion area of nonfiction. I have a curious mind and like to find answers to questions that people have or find solutions to everyday problems that people experience.

I have been active on Quora.com and have answered over 600 questions, have had close to half a million views of my content and was awarded a Quora Top Writer 2018 Award and the bragging rights that go with it.

My writing style is conversational, like you and I are sitting down having a conversation, except that you or I may be sitting down, but we could be in different parts of the world and not necessarily dialoguing at the same time. But other than that … it is exactly the same. You will also find that I have a wry sense of humour, perhaps a little tongue in cheek.

While I believe in self-promotion, I don’t take myself too seriously.

Through this newsletter, I hope to provide you insight into what I am up to, the projects that I am working on and some glimpses of life from my perspective.

I welcome feedback and suggestions of what I can write about. I have a joke that I use from my 25 years of Toastmasters experience ‘I never let my lack of knowledge on a particular subject prevent me from being an expert.’

So, come along in a journey of discovery with me. If you haven’t already, subscribe to this newsletter from raestonehouse.com and while you are there, check out my blog.

Until next time … take care.

Onwards & upwards!
